The Ametech Smart Heating Platform builds upon traditional heating information systems by integrating cutting-edge technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence, enabling customers to achieve comprehensive hydraulic balance across the entire heating network, conduct energy‑consumption analysis, and implement intelligent control—covering smart monitoring, smart operation, smart metering, smart analytics, smart customer service, smart inspections, smart maintenance, operational safety, and geographic information. By seamlessly integrating all components of the heating system and breaking down data and operational silos, the platform leverages AI to optimize operating conditions at every stage—heat sources, district heating networks, heat exchange stations, and user‑side systems—while aligning with government regulatory requirements. Its overarching goal is to deliver an integrated, unified management system that enhances the heating user experience, boosts the economic performance of heating utilities, reduces resource and energy consumption, and minimizes environmental impact.
Smart Unmanned Heat Exchange Station
The heat exchange station comprises a heat exchange system consisting of water-to-water heat exchangers, a circulating water system with circulating pumps, and a make-up water system equipped with make-up pumps. During the control process, numerous physical quantities—such as pressure, temperature, and flow rate—are acquired as analog signals, which are then collected and processed in real time by a PLC controller. The PLC-based control system of the heat exchange station automatically regulates key components, including the electric control valves on the primary network, the circulation system on the secondary network, and the make-up water system, thereby achieving fully automated operation of the entire heat exchange station.
The heating system is a complex, closed-loop system comprising a heat source, a district heating network, and heat consumers. During operation, factors such as design, construction, commissioning, renovation, expansion, initial balancing, and the varying stages of building development can lead to mismatches between flow distribution in the network and the demand at individual heat users, resulting in thermal imbalances characterized by uneven heating. To address these issues and enhance the operational efficiency of heating utilities, our system incorporates whole‑network balancing. Based on overall network load, pipeline characteristics, and heat‑source parameters, the system employs temperature‑based and heat‑quantity‑based algorithms to distribute the heat supplied from the power plant or primary station evenly across the network via a balanced operating mode, assigning optimal valve openings for each secondary heat exchange station and public buildings.
Integrated Information System for the Heat Source Plant
The comprehensive informationization of the heat source plant aims to integrate real-time data from all production control systems, establish a unified data-sharing platform, and enable applications such as real-time process monitoring and performance analysis. This will enhance safe, economical operations and improve energy efficiency and consumption reduction. Real-time data from each production system will be presented to the production management department in the form of intuitive visual displays and comprehensive, accurate production reports. Meanwhile, leveraging technologies such as the Internet of Things, the Internet, and big‑data analytics, the system will deeply mine production data to uncover energy‑saving potential, analyze relevant data across all production stages, and provide guidance for heating‑supply operations. These efforts will effectively elevate the plant’s management standards and strengthen the energy utilization and process‑control capabilities of the heating‑supply enterprise.
A plate heat exchanger is a new type of high-efficiency heat exchanger that uses numerous corrugated metal plates as its heat-transfer elements. It is suspended by an upper crossbeam, positioned by lower guide rods, and secured with clamping bolts; adjacent plates are sealed against each other by gaskets.
Diverting Volumetric Heat Exchanger
The heat-exchange section of the heat exchanger features a novel rapid‑heat‑transfer design, with an additional flow‑directing device installed inside the vessel. This configuration delivers a high heat-transfer coefficient, significantly enhancing thermal efficiency, and enables each unit to achieve a heat‑exchange capacity 1.5 to 2.0 times that of comparable conventional volumetric heat exchangers.
Diverting Semi-Volume Heat Exchanger
The heat exchange section is of an improved design, enabling rapid heat transfer, a high heat transfer coefficient, and a large heat exchange capacity. Compared with conventional semi‑volumetric heat exchangers of the same type, its water production rate is 2 to 3 times higher.
Diverting Semi-Volumetric Floating Coil Heat Exchanger
The heat exchange section is configured as a coil, leveraging water flow to generate high-frequency oscillations and thereby achieving laminar-flow heat transfer.
Semi-Instantaneous Floating Coil Heat Exchanger
This type of heat exchanger is a storage‑type unit with a limited water‑holding capacity, capable of storing 1 to 3 minutes’ worth of hot water. It can rapidly replenish heat and, under conditions where the flow rates of the hot and cold media remain relatively stable, it maintains an optimal balance between heat supply and demand, thereby achieving constant‑temperature, variable‑flow water supply.
Coiled-tube heat exchanger series
Ametech has introduced a new energy‑efficient heat exchanger—the spiral‑wound tube heat exchanger—to meet market demand. Its design fundamentally departs from conventional tube‑type heat exchangers, featuring a unique bidirectional helical thread, optimized inter‑tube spacing, and a counter‑wound tube bundle configuration. These innovations significantly alter fluid flow dynamics, delivering excellent turbulence, reduced fouling tendencies, and high heat transfer film coefficients. The unit also exhibits a small temperature difference across the heat‑transfer surfaces and minimal external heat loss. It is highly efficient, energy‑saving, low‑noise, and environmentally friendly; with a compact structure, long design life, and high effective utilization of heat‑transfer area, it finds wide application in heat‑exchange processes across HVAC, chemical, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, textile, and other industries.
Plate-and-shell heat exchanger series
Plate-and-shell heat exchangers consist primarily of circular plates and a cylindrical shell, combining the high heat-transfer coefficients of plate heat exchangers with the high-temperature and high-pressure resistance of shell-and-tube heat exchangers. This design enables them to meet the operational requirements of both types, while simultaneously offering significant advantages in terms of space efficiency and reduced procurement costs.
